Right now I am on hold waiting to speak with a representative from my electric company. It never fails I always end up on h old with these people. I wish I could put them on hold wwhen it came time to pay the bill or something.



The little Christmas party was nice. A lot of people did not show up, but the place we went to was crowded. We had it at a local Mexican place called Ninfa's. The food is okay there.



I just hung up on the light company. I can always call them later. I am not going to spend the whole damn day on h old with them.

The stituation in Iraq is a mess. The Iraqi government does not seem able to handle it on their own and it does not look like they will be able to for some time to come. The United States went to war with Iraq and ousted Sadaam Hussein. Years ago, the US put him in power over there. The main reason we gave the world that we were going to war was Sadaam had weapons of mass destruction and was intent on using them. Well, the truth is he did not have the weapons we were told he had. We went over there without enough troops. We have destablized the country and perhaps the whole region. Yes, an evil dictator is out of power. Yes, the Iraqi people are free from his rule. What do they have now? A weak government that cannot do anything about all the insurgents who are hurting the normal person on the street. We may stay in Iraq for years trying to stop the insurgents from tearing the country apart. People this is a civil war.



The most intelligent plan I have heard is to split the country of Iraqi three ways. Let the Kurds keep the north. Give a section to the Shites and another section to the Sunnis. The Shites and the Sunnis do not like each other and it seems they are dead set against the idea of governing Iraq togehter. Ok- then you the Shites get your own country and you the Sunnis you get your own country. Now if they would agree to this remains to be seen. A good friend of mine said that if we leave Iraq now we would get blamed for the country being in a mess. Well, in that part of the world the United States is always being blamed for something. In fact, they do not as a whole like us and I do not see the need to stay in Iraq just so they do not blame us for something else. She stated we would get attacked again. Well, the Taliban and Bin Laden attacked us on 9/11. Yes , it may happen again if our intelligence community(the CIA, the FBI) does not stay on their toes. . Muslin extremists believe we either convert to Islam or die. Staying in or leaving Iraq has nothing to do with it.



I am beginning to think that the freedom of the Iraqi people was not the main reason we went into Iraq in the first place. I think Iraqi oil played a bigger part. If our current leaders were so concerned about human rights, then why are we not doing something about the genocide in the Dafur section of the Sudan? The government of the Sudan is killing millions of its own people. My opinion is that Sudan does not have any natural resource at the moment that can make certain individuals wealthy. Yes, some people get quite rich during wartime.



When the United States was a colony of Great Britain, no other nation came over and fought the battle for us. We did it ourselves. Maybe if people are really interested in forming a democracy in their country, they would stand up and fight the powers to be themselves.
